Kedarkantha is a majestic peak dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Uttarkashi District of Uttarakhand. There are a total of 13 peaks of the Himalayan range visible from the Kedarkantha peak.

Day 1

Upon arrival at Dehradun Railway Station in the morning, drive towards Sankri – a beautiful village that lies in the district of Uttarkashi, about 162 km from Dehradun. This village serves as the gateway to the Har ki Doon, and it lies at an altitude of around 1950 metres above sea level. The village is located around 13 km inside the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary.

The drive from Dehradun to Sankri will take approximately 10-11 hours. Stay overnight at the pre-arranged accommodation in Sankri.
Day 2
Today, we proceed towards Juda Ka Taal (4 km/approx., 5hrs approx). The trail passes through beautiful pine forests. Mid-way the forest clears up to a large meadow with beautiful Himalayan Range in the background. Stay overnight in Camp.
Day 3
We start with an excursion to Juda Ka Taal, a lake surrounded by pine forests, that freezes during winters. Then, proceed towards Kedarkantha Base Camp (4Km, 3hrs approx.) At night, the snow-clad mountain peaks shine brightly as the moon. After an early dinner, try to get a good night’s sleep as you will be waking up at 2 AM for breakfast and will start your summit attempt around 3 AM in the morning. Stay overnight in Camp.
Day 4
Today is the SUMMIT DAY. We will start our journey before dawn through snow slopes. The first ray of morning will leave you speechless with dramatic 360-degree view of Himalayan Range. Then, we descend towards Base Camp for warm lunch and process toward Hargaon post lunch. Total distance to be covered 6km, 7hrs approx Stay overnight in Camp.
Day 5
We will start early morning to catch Sunrise and proceed back to Sankri (6km, 3hrs approx.) and drive back to Dehradoon by Car (10hrs) to reach by evening, from where you will continue your onwards trip.

1 Best time to do Kedarkantha Trek?
December to February is a best time as a winter Trek. However, except monsoon you can go in summer as well.
2 Can a beginner join this trek?
This trek is highly recommended for beginner. One of the most popular winter trek in India.

Dehradoon Railway Station.
4 How to Reach?

By Air :- Jolly Grant Airport is the airport serving Dehradun, located about 48 km from the Haridwar. There is a daily flight from Delhi for Dehradun.

By Train:- An excellent rail network connects Dehradoon to other important cities like Delhi, Mussoorie, Mumbai, Varanasi, Lucknow, and Kolkata.

By Bus:- There are many regular bus services from Delhi to Dehradoon, from Delhi ISBT Kashmere Gate. We would suggest taking only government buses from ISBT Kashmere Gate. Usually, buses drop you at Dehradoon ISBT. From there you have to come to Haridwar Railway Station
