Goecha La (el. 4940 mt or 16,207 ft) is a high mountain pass in Sikkim, India in the Himalaya range.

Day 1

We will start our journey from Yuksom to Sachen through deep forest and crossing 3 iron bridges which might take approx 6hrs (8 Kms).
Day 2
The trek will be bit steeper from Sachen to Tshoka via Bakhim trough rhododendron and alpine forest covering almost 7 kms in approx. 5 hrs. Enroute you can spot peak like Mt. Pandim.
Day 3
It’s a steep climb to Dzongri via Phedang, but this is a day to look forward to as the views of Kanchenjunga range spread out before you from Dzongri top. It is 9 kms trek which might take 7 hrs.
Day 4
We will start trekking early morning so that you could witness the Kaleidoscopic view of the sun rising at the Dzongri top. From there you will get a 180-degree view of the peaks of the Singalila and Kanchenjunga ranges. The trail descends up to Kockchurang and then climbs up to Thansing, which is around 10 kms and might take approx. 6 hours. The Prekchu river flows through the trail.
Day 5
It’s a fairly easy hike up to Lanuney which is around 4 kms through meadows with great views of the mountains. Once we reach camp an optional side trip can be made up to Samiti Lake a beautiful alpine lake reached after a steep 45 min climb.
Day 6
Today requires a very early start as it brings us to Goecha La the end point of the trek from where we backtrack to Kockchurang for the night. The trail takes one above the ridge overlooking Samiti Lake with fantastic views of Kangchenjunga and Mount Pandim all along. Total of 18 kms trek might take 14 hrs approx.
Day 7
We take a slightly different route on the way back to keep things interesting. The trail from Kockchurang to Phedang is fairly level as it skirts around the mountain with good views which is about 14 kms and fairly 6 hrs trek.
Day 8
This is the finally day of trekking as we make our decent back to the trailhead. We will spend the night at Yuksom. About 14 kms which might take 6 hours.

1 Best time to do Goecha La trek?
April to June & September to October is a best time to explore.
2 Can a beginner join this trek?
No, this trek is recommended for seasoned trekkers having prior trekking experiences. You can try any other Easy to Moderate trek from our website to start with.
3 Where will we pick you up?
New Jalpaiguri Station / Siliguri Bus Stand. However, transportation cost is not included in the package and to be paid extra.
4 How to Reach?

By Air :- Kolkata & Bagdogra are two nearby Airports. Whereas, Bagdogra is nearby but pricer than Kolkata, which has regular flights from all major cities.

By Train:- Rail network connects New Jalpaiguri station to Kolkata.

By Bus:- There are many regular bus services from Kolkata to Silliguri, from Kolkata Esplanede.
